Domestic disturbance sparks 5-car hit-and-run crash in Covina: Police

A domestic disturbance apparently led to a multi-vehicle hit-and-run crash that left at least two people injured in Covina early Wednesday morning. The collision was reported shortly before 6 a.m. on Hollenbeck Avenue just south of Cypress Street. Sky5 was over the scene around 6:45 a.m., where one vehicle had overturned and two others suffered major front-end damage. A fourth damaged vehicle came to a stop closer to the intersection. A fifth driver allegedly fled the scene and is now being sought by authorities. Investigators believe some type of domestic disturbance occurred prior to the collision and likely triggered the crash, Covina Police Department Lt. Rodriguez told KTLA. Rodriguez said two people were initially reported injured, though additional victims were possible. No fatalities were reported. A description of the hit-and-run driver or the vehicle that fled the scene was not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation. Check back for updates on this developing story. KTLA’s Alberto Mendez contributed to this report.
