Deputies respond to small plane crash near Spotsylvania County airport
A small plane crashed on the property of a tractor dealership Tuesday in Spotsylvania County , officials said. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said a Montana Coyote airplane crashed along Tidewater Trail near Shannon Airport around 11:05 a.m. with only the pilot on board. It is unclear what the pilot's injuries are. The plane crashed onto Greenline Service Corporation's property but did not hit the building, the business told 7News. Greenline Service Corporation is a dealership for John Deere tractors and other lawn equipment. Spotsylvania County Sheriff's Office said they are among a "large emergency personnel presence" assisting Virginia State Police (VSP). The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation.
