Deadly crash near Richmond leaves 13-year-old deceased and 4 others injured
Tragedy struck on Greenmount Pike near the Indiana-Ohio state line and Richmond, where a car crash involving a reported stolen vehicle has resulted in the loss of a 13-year-old passenger's life and injuries to four others. According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred when the driver failed to negotiate a curve from State Line Road to Greenmount Pike early Saturday morning, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and collide with several trees. The vehicle was carrying five individuals at the time of the crash, including the fatally injured 13-year-old passenger. Two rear-seat passengers, aged 17 and 18, were airlifted to a hospital in Dayton, Ohio for treatment, while another 17-year-old was taken to a local hospital. The 17-year-old driver sustained minor injuries. The car had been reported stolen to the Richmond Police Department two days prior to the crash. The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this tragic accident.
