1 possibly dead, others injured after Northridge crash, authorities say
A person may have died and others were injured in a crash in Northridge on Wednesday morning. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Lassen Street on reports of a two-vehicle collision at 7:53 a.m. LAPD was only able to confirm “one possible fatality” right away. The Los Angeles Fire Department provided the same details on the time and place of the crash, adding that two people were transported to a local hospital. “There are reports of one more being evaluated on scene and one possibly deceased on scene, but we are still waiting for confirmation,” an LAFD spokesperson confirmed to KTLA shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday. As of 9:30 a.m., there were no new details released by either LAPD or LAFD. Video from the scene posted to the Citizen App shows a white canopy was erected at the scene, which typically signifies a fatality occurred. Also seen on the Citizen App footage was a crumpled black SUV being investigated by first responders. There was no word on what caused the crash or whether speed or impairment were factors.
