Wright County couple dies after truck crashes into concrete building
HARTVILLE, Mo. — Two Wright County residents have died after a single-vehicle crash on Thursday morning. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, a 78-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman, both from Norwood, Missouri, died after the incident around 11:14 a.m. near East Rolla Street in Hartville. Law enforcement says the incident occurred as the man was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado with the woman as an occupant when the vehicle rapidly accelerated, jumped a curb and went through a parking lot. The pickup truck is said to have struck a concrete building in the incident. The Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt pronounced the two dead around 11:18 a.m., MSHP said. Authorities note that the couple was not wearing seatbelts during the crash. These are the 16th and 17th fatalities in 2026 for Troop G.
