Dead man discovered in house following investigation into fatal crash
The town of Waddington, N.Y., experienced a tragic incident on State Route 37 that claimed the life of a driver involved in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday morning. The New York State Police arrived at the scene where a silver Buick Enclave had veered off the road, finding the driver unresponsive. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at Canton–Potsdam Hospital. Further investigation unveiled that the driver had injuries prior to the crash, and they also discovered another deceased individual at the driver's home. The driver's injuries were severe, leading to the involvement of the Collision Reconstruction Unit from Troop B to examine the scene. The State Police Investigators suspect that the driver might have been injured before the accident, but evidence of injuries from the crash was also present. The Forensic Investigation Unit was called to the driver's residence where they found another deceased male. Authorities have reassured the community that they do not believe there is a threat to the public, as they consider this to be an isolated incident. Autopsies for both individuals are scheduled for December 1 at Glens Falls Hospital to be conducted by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica. The State Police were supported at the accident site by Lisbon Fire and Rescue, Waddington Fire and Rescue, and the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation into the crash and the deaths is still ongoing as authorities are working to establish the cause and manner of death through the autopsies.
