CSP cruiser hit while responding to previous crash on I-95 in Groton
GROTON, Conn. (WTNH) -- A car hit a state police cruiser as troopers were responding to a previous crash on I-95 in Groton, CSP said. Roughly around 6:30 p.m., a one-car crash on the Northbound side of the highway shut down two lanes between exits 83 and 85. At least one person has serious non-life-threatening injuries, according to state police. At about 7:50 p.m., an unoccupied Connecticut State Police cruiser was hit by a car while troopers were investigating the initial crash. CSP said the operator of the car that hit the cruiser has minor injuries. Check back with News 8 for updates.
