Crash kills two MDOT workers on US-127 in Mason
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Two Michigan Department of Transportation workers were hit and killed by an SUV on US-127 at Cedar Street in Mason on Tuesday afternoon. According to the Michigan State Employees Association (MSEA), the workers were hit and killed in the northbound lanes of US-127 shortly before 1:30 p.m. MDOT also confirmed that the two workers were killed. The Ingham County Sheriff's Office says the driver, a 24-year-old Dewitt man, lost control of the SUV and struck the two workers, identified as a 49-year-old man and a 51-year-old man, both from Mason. The driver was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition. MSEA says that a third worker was "evaluated and released at the scene."
