Crane man dies in overnight crash in Newton County
NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. -- A man from Crane, Missouri, died after his SUV crashed three miles south of Sarcoxie at around midnight on Friday, Jan. 6. The crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse was traveling north on Tiger Road at Aspen Road when the SUV went off the left side of the road and struck a fence. The vehicle got back onto the roadway before travelling off the other side of the road, struck a fence and overturned. The 25-year-old driver of the Chevrolet was pronounced dead at the scene. The next of kin has been notified of his passing. This is the 19th fatality in MSHP Troop D in 2026.
