Christmas Day crash leaves 2 dead on 5 Freeway in northern Los Angeles County

A three-vehicle collision on the 5 Freeway in Lebec on Christmas Day resulted in two fatalities and six individuals being taken to hospitals, as reported by authorities. Los Angeles County Fire Department teams arrived swiftly at the scene following a 2:56 p.m. emergency call. Among those injured, three were treated for minor wounds, while three with no injuries were taken for precautionary observations. Unfortunately, the genders and ages of the victims are currently unknown. The cause of the accident is being investigated, with harsh weather due to a recent winter storm possibly contributing to dangerous driving conditions. The California Highway Patrol had to issue a SigAlert, leading to the closure of the first and second lanes. The closure was expected to last until further notification, allowing officials time to clear the wreckage and look into the incident.
