Christmas Day crash in Pennsylvania leaves 3 dead, 3 injured
Three individuals lost their lives and three were injured in a tragic collision on Christmas Day in Centre County, Pennsylvania. The Pennsylvania State Police reported that the incident occurred when a Pontiac G6 and a Nissan Pathfinder collided head-on along North Eagle Valley Road near Swartz Hollow Road in Howard Township at 2:30 p.m. The drivers of both vehicles veered across the center line, resulting in the crash. Sadly, the driver and two passengers in the Pontiac lost their lives, and two other passengers were airlifted to hospitals with severe injuries. The Nissan driver was transported to a local hospital with injuries of unknown severity. The identities of those involved have not been disclosed, but it was mentioned that both adults and juveniles were impacted. Keystone Central School District's superintendent shared on social media that a student and his parents from the district were among the casualties. The student's sibling, also in the district, sustained critical injuries. The school district will offer counseling and support services upon reopening on Jan. 5, 2025. The community is urged to offer their thoughts and prayers to the affected families and first responders who handled the devastating incident. Authorities are requesting information from any witnesses or individuals involved in the crash by contacting the state police Rockview barracks.
