Children among 2 killed, 4 injured in Trussville interstate construction zone semi-truck crash
At least two people, including a child, were killed in a crash involving two semi-trucks on Interstate 59 in Jefferson County Tuesday morning. It happened around 7:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of an ALDOT construction zone in Trussville, according to Trussville Fire Chief Tim Shotts.Four others, one adult and three children, were also injured. Details about the extent of their injuries have not been released. All of those involved were in the commercial trucks.All northbound lanes were closed and reopened as of 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.Trussville Fire and Rescue is being assisted by Center Point Fire District.
