Charleston Police investigate fatal car crash on Saturday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) - The Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that occurred in the early morning on Saturday. According to the Charleston Police Department, a vehicle was traveling southbound on Bees Ferry Road near Shadow Pointe Drive when it struck a curb, causing the driver to lose control. The Charleston Police Department, Charleston Fire Department, and Charleston County EMS responded to the scene and found the driver, the vehicle's sole occupant, dead. A part of Bees Ferry Road was closed while investigators were evaluating the scene. The roadway reopened at approximately 5:00 a.m, CPD says. The collision remains under investigation. The Charleston County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the deceased at the appropriate time.
