Car fled scene after hitting woman in Pitcairn; Detectives launch investigation
There was a heavy police response in Pitcairn, Allegheny County, after a woman was hit by a vehicle Thursday night.According to authorities, the woman was hit by a light-colored sedan in the 400 block of Broadway Boulevard. That vehicle then drove away from the scene. Video showed yellow tape blocking the road as police and EMS remained at the scene."We were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. When we arrived, we assessed the scene. EMS arrived and took care of patient care," Pitcairn Fire Chief Tommy Dick said. Allegheny County Police said the woman is in critical condition. Anyone with information is asked to call the County Police Tip Line.This is a developing story.
