Cambria County firefighter killed in ATV accident. ‘He will be dearly missed’
CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A Washington Township volunteer firefighter was killed over the weekend after an ATV accident. Christopher Miller, 38, was killed after being ejected from an ATV that he was driving on Farmers Turnpike, near Viewpoint Lane, in Lilly. Miller was traveling Southbound when he, for unknown reasons, veered into the oncoming lane. He was ejected from the ATV, which was stuck in a snowbank, and landed in the Northbound lane. A vehicle came across the accident while Miller was lying in the road and was ultimately hit by the driver as he attempted to maneuver around the scene. Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted by officials that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Miller was a life member of the Portage Volunteer Fire Company.
