Briley Parkway shut down due to deadly multi-vehicle crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — All eastbound lanes of Briley Parkway were shut down Saturday morning in northern Davidson County after a crash involving a wrong-way driver, according to Metro police. The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the multi-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 4:30 a.m. Saturday near mile marker 22, just before Clarksville Pike. Metro police said the crash involved a vehicle that was driving west in the eastbound lanes when it collided with another vehicle. The alleged wrong-way driver does not have life-threatening injuries, and is under investigation for possible DUI, officials said. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital, where he died. Fatal crash investigators were at the scene for several hours. The roadway reopened just after 9 a.m. Saturday.
