Bond denied for man accused in Effingham County deadly crash

(WSAV) — A man accused of homicide by vehicle in a crash that killed a Ludowici father in Effingham County in May was denied bond Tuesday. Deiby Janamejoy Jansasoy, 27, appeared at the Effingham County Court for a preliminary hearing following a deadly crash back on May 1 that ended the life of father and husband Michael 'Danny' Sharpe. Jansasoy reportedly had a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.197 at the time of the crash on Old Augusta Road in Rincon. He is charged with homicide by vehicle in the first degree, reckless driving, DUI, failure to maintain lane and driving while unlicensed. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Jansasoy came to the United States illegally from Colombia in 2023.
