Body recovered from San Francisco Bay boat accident identified as Sacramento County woman

(FOX40.COM) — A body that was pulled from San Francisco Bay on Thursday and was one of three missing passengers aboard a boat that capsized earlier this week has been identified. The body was identified as 58-year-old Tondra Miller of Sacramento County, according to the San Francisco medical examiner. Miller, also known as Tondra Madruga, was among the three people on board the boat declared missing. The boat, a 49-foot three-deck cabin cruiser called the Volare, capsized and sank Tuesday afternoon near Alcatraz Island with 20 people and a dog onboard.  Sixteen were rescued, three were declared missing, and one body was recovered at the time — later identified as Clifford Joseph Boisa, 79, of Sutter County. The dog onboard died. Miller’s body was recovered around 1 p.m. Thursday in the water west of Treasure Island, when a passing vessel alerted police. She was declared dead at the scene. Two others remain missing. The group aboard the Volare was participating in a memorial service for Maria Boisa, a Fremont nurse who died 10 years ago, FOX40 sister station KRON4 reported. Clifford Boisa served as a reserve deputy with the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office from 1987 to 2001, the office said in a news release Wednesday. “His years of dedicated service and commitment to public safety will not be forgotten,” the sheriff’s office said. The Volare was registered out of Stockton.
