Berks County man identified in fatal motorcycle crash
SHOEMAKERSVILLE, Pa. (WHTM) -- A Berks County man was identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle crash earlier this week. According to the Berks County Coroner's Office, Patrick Powers, 70, of Muhlenberg Township, was riding a motorcycle on Route 61 near Route 662 in Perry Township around 12:40 p.m. Thursday. The coroner's office said Powers left the roadway and struck an embankment. He was pronounced dead at Reading Hospital later Thursday. The cause of death was ruled blunt force trauma and the manner as accidental. State Police at Hamburg responded to investigate and were assisted by Shoemakersville Fire, Northern Berks EMS, and Muhlenberg Area EMS.
