Anthony Joshua injured in car accident in Nigeria, 2 others killed

British boxer Anthony Joshua was involved in a car accident in Nigeria that led to the death of two individuals, authorities reported. Joshua, a former two-time world heavyweight champion aged 36, was in the back of a black Lexus when it collided with a stationary truck on a busy highway in Makun, Ogun State. He sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment, while two passengers in the vehicle did not survive. Two other individuals in the car were unharmed, according to the Nigerian federal road safety corps (FRSC). The crash involved a total of five adult males, and preliminary reports from the Ogun State government indicated that two foreign nationals died at the scene. Joshua, who was on holiday in Africa following his recent win against Jake Paul in Miami, was traveling on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near Sagamu when the accident occurred. The FRSC stated that the crash was likely caused by excessive speed and wrongful overtaking, which are common factors in fatal road accidents in Nigeria. Joshua, who has Nigerian heritage, was seen in footage being assisted out of the wreckage in an emergency vehicle, where he received treatment for his injuries. The incident is currently under investigation by local authorities.
