Fatal two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 49 kills driver
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) - One person was killed Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 49, according to local authorities. Officers with the Hattiesburg Police Department responded around 1:27 p.m. to the 6900 block of U.S. Hwy 49 after a vehicle rear-ended another car. Police said traffic in the area had slowed down due to a separate crash nearby. The driver of the rear-ended vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
