Announcement of funeral arrangements for Colorado state senator who died in car accident.

The late Colorado state senator who tragically lost her life in a car accident in the Denver metro area last week will be honored at a funeral on Friday afternoon. The service for Faith Winter, scheduled for 2 p.m., will take place on the west steps of the Colorado State Capitol. Winter, aged 45, was the victim of a fatal crash on Nov. 26 while traveling on I-25 in the northbound lanes near the East Dry Creek Road exit. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident, which may require several weeks for further details. Governor Jared Polis has directed flags to be lowered to half-staff on the day of the funeral to pay tribute to Winter's contributions. The funeral will be followed by a celebration of life reception, for which specifics are yet to be revealed. Winter, a dedicated public servant and loving mother of two, leaves behind a legacy of service spanning her tenure in Westminster City Council, Colorado House of Representatives, and Colorado State Senate.
