Amarillo police searching for Lamborghini driver accused in deadly hit-and-run
Amarillo police are looking for a driver accused of killing his passenger in a hit-and-run crash . Justin Jay Shepherd, 43, is wanted on a charge of collision involving death. According to court records obtained by ABC 7 News , Shepherd was driving north on South Georgia Street around 1 a.m. Saturday when he ran a red light at Southwest 15th Avenue. His red Lamborghini hit an SUV and a pickup traveling west through the intersection. After the initial crash, the Lamborghini continued north before hitting another pickup in the 1200 block of South Georgia Street and coming to a stop. Police identified the passenger who was killed as Eric Gilliam. Multiple witnesses told police they saw Shepherd run from the scene. According to court records, the Lamborghini is registered to Shepherd, and police found his cellphone in the car.
