Actor Wenne Davis dies in car crash in New York, according to police

Wenne Alton Davis, known for their role in the Amazon series "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," tragically passed away in a car accident in New York on Monday. Davis, 60, was struck by a Black Cadillac SUV on West 53rd Street and Broadway in midtown Manhattan. They sustained severe injuries and were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The NYPD reported that the 61-year-old driver of the vehicle was unharmed. Davis, who preferred they/them pronouns, had a successful career with appearances in various TV shows and movies including "Blindspot," "New Amsterdam," and a role in the movie "Shame." Their agent, Jamie Harris, paid tribute on Instagram with a heartfelt message and a photo of them together. Davis resided in Queens' Forest Hills neighborhood. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
