86-year-old Cherokee woman killed in Garfield County crash
An 86-year-old woman is dead following an accident in Garfield County. Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, emergency crews were called to an accident along US 412 and Hwy 132 in Garfield County. Investigators say 86-year-old Betty Mitchell was driving southbound on Hwy 132 when she did not stop at a stop sign. As a result, her vehicle was hit by a westbound vehicle in the intersection. Mitchell died as a result of her injuries. The driver in the other vehicle was injured, but the extent of his injuries has not been released.
