2 killed in Randolph County crash, highway patrol says
RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Two people were killed in a crash in Randolph County on Monday afternoon. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, just after 4:30 p.m. on Monday, troopers responded to a crash on US 64 at Tabernacle Church Road. An SUV driven by Linda Hunt Davis, 79, of Sophia, hit a Freightliner box truck when troopers say Davis failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign while trying to cross US 64 towards Bescher Chapel Road. Davis and her passenger, William Wesley Hodgin, 78, of Sophia, died at the scene. The driver of the Freightliner truck was not hurt.
