2 kids hurt after ATV collides with SUV in Erie County

ERIE COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) -- A crash between an ATV and a SUV sent two kids to the hospital, one of whom was said to have life-threatening injuries. The crash happened on State Route 113 in Milan Township Saturday afternoon around 1:45 p.m., according to a news release from OSHP. The investigation revealed the ATV - operated by a 13-year-old and carrying a 10-year-old passenger - drove into the road from a private driveway when it was struck by a SUV that was going east on 113. The ATV reportedly caught fire after the collision, which also sent the SUV off the road where it overturned and hit a utility pole. The children were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center after which time the 10-year-old was airlifted to UH Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, according to OSHP. The crash remains under investigation.
