2 dead after crash on I-95 in Virginia, bystanders save lone survivor from burning vehicle
Two people were killed, and one passenger was rescued after a fiery single-vehicle crash overnight on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County, Virginia. The chaotic crash happened around 2:17 a.m. June 21 on I-95 northbound at the exit to Route 286, also known as Fairfax County Parkway. The Virginia State Police (VSP) said the preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was speeding, went off the road, hit about 75 feet of guardrail, hit a tree, and went about 50 feet down an embankment. The vehicle also caught fire. That individual was taken to a nearby hospital, and there is no word on their injuries. The driver and another passenger died at the scene, state police said. The names of the deceased victims have not been released to the public yet. The crash remains under investigation.
