18-month-old dies after being hit by vehicle in Louisa driveway in apparent ‘tragic accident’
LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An 18-month-old toddler is dead after being hit by a vehicle in a driveway on Thursday afternoon in Louisa County in what officials believe was an apparent "tragic accident." On Thursday, April 23, at around 5:30 p.m., the Louisa County Sheriff's Office received a report that a child was hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of Indian Creek Road. Once on scene, deputies and Louisa County Fire and EMS crews found an 18-month-old toddler who was hit in a driveway. Immediate care was provided, but the toddler died at the scene. Officials stated that this is an ongoing investigation, but preliminary findings show that it appears to have been an accident.
