17-year-old dies after car crash near Cassville, Missouri

BARRY COUNTY, Mo. — A 17-year-old has died after a crash in Barry County, Missouri, on Saturday, Feb. 21. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report, the 17-year-old Rogers, Arkansas, girl died around 10:25 a.m. on Missouri Route 76, four miles east of Cassville, Missouri, on Saturday. The report states the girl was a passenger as a 24-year-old Rogers, Arkansas, woman was driving a 2009 Honda Accord east when the vehicle traveled off the road and struck a tree. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead around 11 a.m. on the scene by the Barry County Coroner, Gary Swearingen. The next of kin has been notified, MSHP says. The 24-year-old was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield with minor injuries. This is the 10th fatal crash for Troop D in 2026.
