1 injured, multiple rescued from burning Harrisburg duplex after 'smoking accident'

Multiple people were rescued from an overnight duplex fire in Harrisburg. Officials said the fire started just after 10 p.m. Tuesday at the 1700 block of State Street , where flames were seen burning outside the home. At the scene, officials learned that at least one person was trapped in the attached home, and rescue efforts began. One person was injured in the fire and taken to the hospital, and several were rescued as crews at the scene quickly heaped water on the burning building. After the fire was contained, officials said it was believed to have been caused by a "smoking accident." The blaze displaced at least eight people. A photo captured by DJM News Media showed damage to multiple levels of the exterior of the home.
