1 hurt in 2-car crash involving signature Lexington barbecue restaurant

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — One person was injured on Friday morning in a crash that reportedly involved two vehicles and a popular barbecue spot on the outskirts of Lexington. It happened around 11 a.m. on March 20, per the Lexington Police Department. Two vehicles were involved in an accident at Red State BBQ on Georgetown Road. The building was also damaged in the crash. One person was reportedly taken to the hospital in the crash with non-life-threatening injuries. The road near Red State was temporarily closed as crews worked to clear the area, but has since reopened. Around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, David Carroll, owner of Red State BBQ, posted on Facebook that no staff members were hurt, but noted that the restaurant would be closed until further notice. An investigation into the crash by the LPD remains ongoing.
