1 dead in I-70 East crash near downtown Columbus
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- One person is dead after a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 East near downtown Columbus on Friday afternoon. The crash, which involved at least seven vehicles, happened at about 4 p.m. near the Kelton Avenue exit and I-71 split. According to a Columbus police dispatcher, a semi-truck heading west blew a tire, causing the tire to hit another vehicle and causing others to crash. The roadway was closed for about six hours and reopened at about 10 p.m. No other details were immediately available.
