1 dead after being struck on Indy’s northwest side
INDIANAPOLIS — A person is dead after being struck by a vehicle on Indy's northwest side Friday morning. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to W 38th St. and Michigan Rd. at around 6:02 a.m. on Friday on a report of a crash. A person was found at the scene to have been struck by a vehicle. The person was pronounced dead at the scene. On Friday afternoon, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 69-year-old Foster Hill. Traffic has been shut down in all directions in the area. The driver of the striking vehicle reportedly remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities, according to IMPD. Indy Vision Zero has issued the following statement in response to the fatal crash. This is an active investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
