1 dead, 2 children injured in crash in St. Francois County

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, Mo. - A Farmington man was killed and two children were injured in a crash Thursday evening in St. Francois County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the crash occurred a shortly before 8 p.m. on Route OO at Williams Drive. It involved a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Chevrolet Equinox. MSHP said the Chevrolet was traveling southbound while the motorcycle was traveling northbound when the Chevrolet made a left turn onto Williams Drive and entered into the path of the motorcyclist. The motorcycle struck the front right side of the vehicle, causing the rider to be ejected. The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old Farmington man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to MSHP. Two children inside the Chevrolet, a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, and both children were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing a seatbelt, according to MSHP.
