1 dead, 1 injured in early morning head-on collision
A man was killed and another was injured in a head-on collision on US 42 Tuesday morning. Officers were called to US 42 between Fern Drive and London Road at approximately 5:20 a.m. for a reported injury crash. The Delaware Police Department confirmed a southbound Honda Odyssey and a northbound Kia Sportage were involved in the collision. The man driving the Honda died at the scene. The man driving the Kia was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with injuries that were said not to be life-threatening. The DPD accident reconstruction team is investigating to determine the cause of the crash. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors, investigators said. The roadway was closed for approximately four hours and reopened around 9:25 a.m. The names of those involved have not yet been released.
