1 dead, 1 injured following early morning Kauaʻi car crash: Police
HONOLULU (KHON2) -- An early morning car crash on Kauaʻi left one person dead and another critically injured. On May 2, police responded to a collision at the intersection of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Kalepa Street. Police said a car speeding on the highway hit a cement curb, collided with two traffic signal poles and flipped over. The driver and passenger were thrown from the car and transported to Wilcox Medical Center, officials said. According to Kauaʻi Police Department, the driver suffered fatal injuries. This is Kauaʻi's fourth traffic fatality of 2026. Officials said the passenger was transported in critical condition to The Queen's Medical Center.
