1 dead, 1 injured after crash in Appomattox County: VSP

Virginia State Police (VSP) said a 52-year-old died after a crash in Appomattox County. VSP said they are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on Thursday at 8:50 p.m. on Pamplin Road in Appomattox County. According to VSP, a 2017 Kia Forte was heading eastbound on Pamplin Road, near the intersection with Thomas Jefferson Highway, when it crossed the centerline and hit a tractor trailer. The Kia then went off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and overturned. The tractor trailer went off the left side of the road. SEE ALSO: VSP investigating fatal motorcycle crash in Pulaski County VSP said the driver of the Kia, Shannon M. Davis, 52, of Danville was taken to an area hospital. Davis died due to her injuries the following day. Davis was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the tractor trailer, Alvin L. Harvey, 52, of Appomattox suffered minor injuries, according to VSP. The crash remains under investigation, VSP said.
