Wrong-way driver killed in head-on crash with semi truck carrying corn in Belle Glade

An unidentified wrong-way driver was violently killed after slamming head-on into a semi carrying corn in Belle Glade, Thursday morning. Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office say at 6:19 a.m., a Nissan Altima was traveling south in the 900 block of Duda Road in Belle Glade, going the wrong way in the northbound lane of travel. At the same time, deputies say a semi truck carrying corn was traveling northbound and impacted the sedan head-on, with the car's hood and roof peeling off as it lodged beneath the semi. The driver of the Nissan, who was not wearing his seatbelt, died upon impact, per PBSO. Due to the severity of his injuries, deputies have not yet identified the remains, but describe him as a black man. The driver of the semi-truck sustained minor injuries.
