Wrong-way crash on I-196 kills both drivers in Grand Rapids

Two people were killed Friday morning in a wrong-way crash near downtown Grand Rapids. A 36-year-old man from Grand Rapids was driving east in the westbound lanes of I-196 when he hit another driver head on near the Lane Avenue exit, according to Michigan State Police. The man was killed along with a 39-year-old woman from Jenison who was driving the other car, police said.
