Woman surrenders in connection to deadly 2023 Pompano Beach crash, according to BSO
A 24-year-old woman surrendered to the Broward Sheriff's Office regarding a fatal accident in Pompano Beach back in 2023. The woman, Jezeniah Gonzalez, is facing charges of vehicular homicide and reckless driving that resulted in serious bodily injury. The incident occurred on May 21, 2023, at the intersection of North Andrews Avenue and West Copans Road, involving a Ford Focus and an Infiniti Q50. Emergency responders had to extricate the occupants of the Infiniti due to the severity of the crash. Tragically, a passenger in the Infiniti, identified as Marquis Walker, did not survive his injuries. Further investigations showed that Gonzalez was driving the Ford Focus at a high speed of 90 to 102 mph in a 40 mph zone, disregarding a red light, which led to the collision. Gonzalez eventually turned herself in at the BSO Main Jail on Tuesday, Dec. 15, where she was taken into custody.
