Woman struck by truck in Franklin County airlifted to hospital
MONTAGUE, Mass. (WWLP) - A woman is suffering from serious injuries after being struck by a truck on Lake Pleasant Road last Thursday evening. Montague Police Chief Jason Haskins told 22News that officers were called at around 7:45 p.m. on March 5th for a report of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the area of 26 Lake Pleasant Road. When officers arrived, they located a woman lying in the roadway, semi-conscious. She was assisted by members of the Montague Center Fire Department and ultimately airlifted to the hospital. An update on her conditions at this time have not yet been released. Chief Haskins said the truck driver believed he initially hit a deer. A witness told police that they saw the victim walking in the middle of the road before the crash. Police say that the driver did not show signs of impairment and no charges are being filed.
