Woman pleads guilty to fatal crash in Elizabeth City that killed her husband
ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WNCT) -- A woman has pleaded guilty to the felony death by motor vehicle of her husband on March 16. Tyisha Louella Major, 45, pleaded guilty in the Pasquotank County Superior Court, where she was sentenced to 100-132 months in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction. Major was arrested on February 8, 2024 after Elizabeth City Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at White Street and Walston Street. Jermaine Calvin Major, 43, and Tyisha Major's husband, succumbed to his injuries.
