Woman killed in Springfield crash identified, speeding blamed for wreck

The woman killed Tuesday afternoon in a Springfield car crash has been identified, with speeding believed to be the cause of the wreck, Fairfax County police said. According to police, Charity McGee, of Alexandria, was driving eastbound on Old Keene Mill Road when her car hit a guardrail. Police said McGhee, 49, died right away. One man was flown to a hospital with critical injuries, while another was taken to the hospital but is expected to recover.
