Woman killed in 4-vehicle crash in Huron County: OSHP
HURON COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating after a deadly crash in Huron County on Monday afternoon. The four-vehicle crash happened just before 1:30 p.m. on State Route 61, near milepost 1, in the village of Plymouth. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ram 1500 pickup truck and a Toyota RAV4 were stopped in the northbound lane of State Route 61 because of roadwork being done in that area, the patrol said. According to investigators, a third vehicle, a 2024 Hyundai Tucson, was slowly approaching the other two when a fourth vehicle, a 2018 Ford F150, struck the back of the Hyundai. The Toyota and the Ram were also hit in the collision. The Hyundai driver, 81-year-old Ruth Pridemore of Willard, died at the scene from her injuries. The Ram driver (a 55-year-old Shiloh man), the Toyota driver (a 35-year-old Perrysburg resident) and the Ford driver (a 50-year-old Crestline man) all suffered minor injuries. The fatal crash remains under investigation at this time.
