Woman from Perris apprehended for fatal DUI collision in Moreno Valley

Deputies in Riverside County apprehended a woman following a fatal accident in Moreno Valley where she was suspected of driving while impaired. The collision, described as causing "major injuries," occurred at the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Frederick Street around 6:20 p.m. Responding deputies found two severely damaged vehicles and both drivers, who were alone in their cars, were trapped inside. They were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and sadly, one of them, identified as 37-year-old Yoseph Asfaw from Moreno Valley, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The other driver, identified as Misty Britan, a 42-year-old resident of Perris, was found to have been driving under the influence. After consulting with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Britan was arrested and is expected to face charges related to vehicular homicide. Authorities continue their investigation and are urging anyone with additional information to contact the Riverside County Sheriff's Office at (951) 776-1099.
