Woman dead after crash on Highway 76 in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- A 92-year-old woman died from her injuries after she was struck by a car while driving in Pendleton Friday afternoon. The Anderson County Coroner's Office said 911 dispatchers received a call just after 4 p.m., regarding a crash that occurred on Highway 76 and Perimeter Road. Investigators said the woman was driving on Perimeter road when she merged into traffic on Highway 76 and was hit by a car. Responders found the woman in critical condition, officials said. She was flown to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries. The woman was identified at Dorothy Sears Moore, who authorities said died as a result of traumatic injuries. Her manner of death was ruled accidental. The crash remains under investigation by the coroner's office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
