Woman charged in fatal North Myrtle Beach pedestrian crash
A woman was arrested after killing a 77-year-old pedestrian in North Myrtle Beach on Friday, according to incident reports. Dawnya Tatiana Little, 43, was charged with felony driving under the influence resulting in death and felony driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury. Officials said Little was driving southbound near the 300 block of North Ocean Boulevard when she allegedly struck two pedestrians in the crosswalk. Lloyd Shelton, of the Plains, Virginia, was transported to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, where he died just after 9:30 p.m., according to Chief Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard. The second victim struck in the crash sustained great bodily injuries, including a broken left leg, according to the North Myrtle Beach Police Department (NMBPD). Reports say that officials also found an alcoholic seltzer in the rear driver's side door. Little was taken into custody and transported to the North Myrtle Beach jail. She is being held under a $300,000 bond. The crash remains under investigation by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
