Search on for driver after deadly hit-and-run crash in Sacramento County, CHP says
The search is on for a driver accused of a deadly hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning, where the driver dragged a person for several blocks in Sacramento County.A 68-year-old woman died, the California Highway Patrol's South Sacramento division said. Officers are looking for a white sedan, likely a 2016-2018 Nissan Altima, CHP said. It's believed that the sedan was traveling northbound on Burdett Way when the driver hit the pedestrian while making a left turn onto Houston Way.CHP said officers found the pedestrian's body at Prentiss Drive and Hull Way, a little under half a mile away. KCRA 3's Melanie Wingo observed the Sacramento County coroner removing her body from the scene.It is unclear if the two knew each other. CHP cleared the scene around 4 a.m. Wingo noticed skid marks that ran from Burdette Drive to where the body was found. Blood was also visible while following the skid marks to the body.See news happening?
