Woman Charged in Barry County Pedestrian Collision
Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol state that 42-year-old Amberel Macdermant has been charged with a felony for Driving While Intoxicated resulting in the Death of Another following an incident on a Monday evening near Purdy. Macdermant was driving on Farm Road 1090 when her vehicle struck and killed an 84-year-old woman from Monett. Macdermant is currently held at the Barry County Jail on a 24-hour hold. This marks the 129th fatality in traffic incidents investigated by Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2025.
